On the body is a series of horizontal lines in brown paint at approximately regular intervals. The amphora shown on the right in this photograph was found at the east edge of the main area together with sherds of the black-figure period. Similar vases have been discovered in the excavations of the Athenian Agora, and recently several amphoras of approximately the same size with similar decorations were discovered in a sixth century well in the Agora in Corinth.
